The C64.
Right in your browser.
SeeBubble 64 brings back the breadbin: insert a disk, type LOAD, RUN – with true keyboard and joystick emulation for keyboard, touchscreen and gamepad. No installation, no account.
Everything a C64 needs
A modern emulation core with an interface that feels like part of SeeBubble.
Load disks
Drag D64 and G64 images into the drive. The directory appears just like LOAD"$",8 – one click loads the program.
BASIC like back then
LOAD"*",8,1, LIST, RUN at the push of a button or typed yourself – with a command line and autostart.
Keyboard emulation
Symbolic for typing or positional for games – plus a virtual C64 keyboard with RUN/STOP, RESTORE, C= and F1–F8.
Joystick emulation
Arrow keys, touch joystick or gamepad – ports 1 and 2 selectable, two gamepads at once.
Private by design
Disks and ROMs are only opened in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, no account required.
Real sound & 1541
SID emulation with reSID, PAL timing and – with your own DOS ROM – a fully emulated 1541 floppy drive.
Three steps to READY.
This is how your first program starts.
Set up system ROMs
Load your own ROM files or install the free Open ROMs with one click. They stay stored in your browser.
Insert a disk
Drag a D64 file onto the screen or drive – the directory appears instantly.
Load & run
Click a program or type it the classic way. Joystick in port 2 – off you go.
The ROMs – your choice
SeeBubble 64 deliberately ships no Commodore ROMs. You decide what your C64 boots with.
Your own ROMsFull compatibility
KERNAL, BASIC, character ROM and optionally the 1541 DOS – for example dumped from your own C64 or from a licensed collection. The original ROMs are protected by copyright; please only use ROMs you are entitled to use.
Free open-source ROMsFree
Open-source reimplementations you can use freely:
- MEGA65 Open ROMs – KERNAL, BASIC and charset (LGPL-3.0). Installable right in the emulator; most programs run, some games do not.
- There is no free DOS replacement for the 1541 drive – without your own DOS ROM, SeeBubble 64 opens disks via fast load straight from the directory.
Emulation core & licenses
SeeBubble 64 is built on VirtualC64 by Dirk W. Hoffmann and its web port vc64web (GPL-3.0; core MPL-2.0, CPU MIT, reSID GPL-2.0). License texts and source references are here.
